The big day has arrived! The first season of “House of the Dragon” aired from August 21 to October 23, 2022. These were some of the key moments of its closure:

King Viserys died and Aegon, his son, was crowned the new king. Rhaenys breaks the news of this betrayal to Rhaenyra, who had been named successor by her father, and warns her that the ‘Greens’ will come for her and her children to keep Aegon on the throne.

This surprising news brings forward the birth of Rhaenyra’s daughter with Daemon and the girl is stillborn after a painful and complicated birth. After the girl’s funeral, Rhaenyra is crowned queen by a knight loyal to the Targaryens. As a result, Otto Hightower appears in Rhaenyra’s kingdom to tell her that Aegon wants to negotiate and appeals to the monarch’s friendship with Alicent Hightower. Rhaenyra promises to think about it to avoid a war in the kingdom.

Meanwhile, Rhaenys reunites with Corlys Velaryon and he promises his support for ‘The Blacks’. Seeking allies, Rhaenyra sends his children Jacaerys and Lucerys as messengers. The latter meets Aemond, who seeks to scare him and provokes an attack by his dragon. Lucerys dies.

The season culminates with Rhaenyra discovering the death of her son and her look of pain promises raw revenge.
