This is the “Electricity Subsidy”, a temporary benefit that allows the most vulnerable households to access a monthly discount on their electricity bills.
People who belong to the section of the 40 percent greater vulnerability of the Social Household Registry (RSH) from the Ministry of Development and Family and those who are up to date with the payment of their electricity bills.
In case of late payment, the beneficiaries must renegotiate the debt or process a payment agreement with the corresponding electricity distribution companies. Along with that, it was reported that the homes that will have priority will be those that have:
- At least one member subject to care (children and adolescents, people with disabilities or people with functional dependence)
- At least one member identified as a caregiver
- At least one elderly person
How to apply for the electricity subsidy
As explained on the benefit website, the first call begins at 00:00 on July 1 and will end on Sunday, July 14 at 11:59 p.m.
To apply, you must enter with the Unique Code in addition to providing the following information:
- Region and commune
- Electrical company or cooperative that delivers the electricity supply
- Customer identification number (data found on the ticket)
- Contact E-Mail
The electronic subsidy It is granted for one semester and will be paid in installments on a monthly or bimonthly basis depending on your billing method.. Exceptionally, those who benefit in the first call will receive the discount in a single installment in October 2024.

The amounts are calculated according to the number of members of the applicant’s household, according to information from the Social Household Registry. If there is more than one household associated with the same customer number, the amount will be determined by adding the number of members of the benefited households.
The amount of the benefit will correspond to the months of: July, August, September, October, November and December 2024. The result of the first call will be delivered in mid-September 2024. The exact date will be published at www.subsidioelectrico.cl.
