Celsia inaugurated a farm with 243 solar panels from the National Brewery of Panama

Celsia announced which continues its expansion in Central America with the inauguration of a plant for the National Brewery, located in the district of Arraiján, in Panama. It is a farm that It comprises 243 state-of-the-art solar panels, each with 560 W of power.

The system will generate 192,039 kWh of clean energy each year, equivalent to the consumption of 50 Panamanian families. During the year, Celsia will install six additional solar systems at the company’s distribution plants in Panama.

Javier Gutiérrez, leader of Celsia Centroamérica, said that “the inauguration of this solar farm is very satisfactory for us. This is just the beginning because with Cervecería Nacional we will launch six more solar systems, three farms and three roofs, in its distribution centers in Majagua, Veraguas, Herrera, Las Sabanas, San Cristóbal and Darién.”

Each of the latest generation solar panels has a power of 560 W, giving a total of 140 kWp to the infrastructure and five 20 kW inverters.

Eloy Lever, director of corporate affairs at Cervecería Nacional said, that “at Cervecería Nacional we work on a solid sustainability strategy that has been developed for more than five years. “Today we mark a milestone that fills us with emotion and that is a step forward towards being a zero-emissions company.”

He added: “We already produce our local portfolio with 100% solar energy, and now is the time to extend these efforts to more areas of our production chain. It is a paradigm shift that seeks correct operational-environmental management and that will benefit both the company and the country in the long term.”
