Don Omar reveals that he is fighting cancer, but his tour does not stop

Puerto Rican singer William Omar Landrón Rivera, better known in the music scene as Don Omar, surprised his followers and colleagues by confessing on his Instagram account that “Today yes, but tomorrow I won’t have cancer.”

The publication was accompanied by a photograph of his arm in which a red bracelet appears that shows him as a patient at the Orlando Medical Center Unit. “Good intentions are well received. See you soon. #f-kcancer,” he completes his confession, although he does not point out what type of cancer he is suffering from.

The interpreter of hits like “Pobre Diabla” and “Danza Kuduro” made this publication after having recently published a video of a group of dancers who are auditioning to be part of the second stage of his “Back to Reggaetón Tour” that will take place in various places where his music has managed to conquer thousands of fans.

“The most special thing about today’s auditions is seeing that there are people who want to dare to dream with me,” stated the message he published a couple of days ago.

“Thank you to each of you who gave your all on the dance floor! This second stage of the tour comes with everything,” the post added.

Don Omar is considered one of the pioneering artists in internationalizing reggaeton.

After the publication where he confesses the battle he is undertaking, his friends and colleagues reacted on social networks and one of the first was his compatriot, the merengue singer, Olga Tañon. “You are a warrior of a thousand battles and you will also win this one, of course,” published the Puerto Rican merengue singer.

For his part, the urban colleague known as Franco El Gorila published “God is with you as always and the prayers are full of good wishes and will heal you. “You are a warrior, one of the greatest who has not allowed life to defeat you. “I am supporting you, my brother, and even more so, I am supporting the one above, who will heal you.”

Don Omar, who has released eight studio albums since 2003 and has won two Latin Grammys and 13 nominations for this award from the Latin Recording Academy, plans to embark on the second US leg of his “Back to Reggaeton 2024” world tour. starting in Oakland, California, on August 7, with visits to Sacramento, Seattle, Portland, Hidalgo, Austin, El Paso and Los Angeles (August 20), while on August 21 it will visit Ontario, before continuing to other cities such as Denver, Milwaukee, Tampa, Washington DC, Newark and Elmont.
