In 2003 she had surgery on her nose, and her husband explained in 2018 to Hola! magazine. that Kalina’s nose change was not aesthetic, but rather due to a delicate health issue.
But it was in 2004 when her change attracted even more attention when she was seen at a family party at the Vrana Palace, in Sofia, with her husband and her father, Simeon of Bulgaria, the last Bulgarian king. She looked very muscular.

Over the years she had many look changes, the ones that stood out the most were her braids and the use of turbans. Thus, her body has also been changing, demonstrating greater muscle mass.
He once visited the dentist to get caps on two of his teeth, but they over-drilled the base of the bone, causing an infection. That happened in 1999.
Furthermore, a year later, she stated that during an expedition at sea she had another infection that caused cosmetic damage that extended to part of one of her eyes; she had to undergo surgery.
