This Monday and until Wednesday, the Winter 2024 Higher Education Access Test (PAES) will be taken in 45 locations nationwide and with more than 31 thousand registered.
During a visit to the surrender site by Education authorities and while they were delivering recommendations prior to the start of the test, the director of the Department of Evaluation, Measurement and Educational Registration (Demre), Leonor Varas, was consulted regarding the frontal system announced for tomorrow and that could affect several regions of the country and what would be the measures against this.
In this regard, Varas indicated that they were aware of the situation and for this they were working with both the ministry and other organizations. “Us We are in coordination with the Ministry of Education, with the regional ministerial secretariats, with Carabineros and with Senapred,” he explained.
“So far, the forecasts that exist do not indicate that we are going to have problems in any of the locations (where the tests are given).”
In this sense, he indicated that “there are places, for example, this morning there was already a storm in Castro, but it does not cause the problems that occur here.”
“The rains that are going to happen in this particular area It is much less rain than what there was last week. We monitor the situation at the national level and solutions are taken at the local level depending on what happens,” he added.
Last year with the winter test, he recalled, although there was not a storm as big as last week, it still caused In some locations there were power outages and because of this the morning test had to be delayed.
“It is being resolved locally and of course no one is going to be harmed.. All of this is inherent to a winter test, we are always going to have problems with the weather in winter, and that is resolved depending on exactly what happens in each part and there are different solutions,” he explained.
