Senapred confirmed that in the early hours of this Tuesday a waterspout passed through the commune of Pencoin the Biobío Region, causing damage to at least 10 homes in the area.
The regional director of Senapred, Alejandro Sandovalconfirmed that “during the early morning a waterspout meteorological phenomenon was possibly evident in the city of Penco, which would have affected approximately 10 homes.”
“This situation is being evaluated by the municipality, mainly the degree of impact on homes, CGE is also repairing the power lines and we have consulted the Chilean Meteorological Directorate about this meteorological phenomenon,” he explained.
Sandoval added that “a strong wind warningwhich we had delivered in our Red alertwhich is valid for the entire region”.
For this reason, the local director of Senapred highlighted the call to “the preventionbecause although these phenomena are quite unusual, They occur suddenly and very locally, therefore we must be very careful to prevent any risk situation. Being prepared is everyone’s job.”
