The president of Russia, Vladimir Putin arrived this Tuesday at North Korea on his first state visit to the neighboring country in almost a quarter of a century.

The presidential provision says that it is about “accepting the proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russiaagreed with the interested federal government bodies and organizations, to sign a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between the Russian Federation and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.”

The Russian president authorized his Foreign Ministry to introduce amendments to the project of the treaty that are not of a fundamental nature.

Putin’s advisor on international policy, Yuri Ushakov, noted this Monday that The new treaty will replace those signed between Moscow and Pyongyang in 1961, 2000 and 2001.
