Almost six months into 2024, traffic authorities have reported a worrying increase in accidents among motorcyclists. Cutting to April, the figures indicate 1,185 deaths of motorcyclists in Colombia, which represents an increase of 2.95% compared to the same period of the previous year.

An example of this alarming trend was the fatal accident that occurred on Monday, June 17 on the Mosquera Mondoñedo road, where a motorcyclist identified as Cristian Marcelo Bohóquez lost his life after colliding with a tractor-trailer. According to reports from the authorities, the accident happened when Bohóquez hit the tractor-trailer from behind, which braked suddenly. The impact caused the motorcycle to catch fire, resulting in the immediate death of its driver.
Who was Cristian Marcelo Bohóquez?
Cristian Marcelo Bohóquez, native of San Antonio de Tequendama, had celebrated Father’s Day the day before his death. Bohóquez was a SENA student and worked as an execution technician at Green Móvil. He was married and the father of two children, who are now facing the loss of a loved one.
