A 19 year old subject was arrested for allegedly stabbing a homeless man to death Monday night who was allegedly breaking into a car near the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles, authorities reported.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:15 p.m. in the 700 block of West 28th Street, near University Avenuein the Greek Row area of USC, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said.
According to the authorities, andThe 19-year-old surprised the homeless man at the time he was trying to break into a car and confronted him.

By the time the officers arrived, they found in an alley an unidentified man in his 30s who had stab wounds.

“There was some type of altercation between the witness and the person breaking into a vehicle. “We are trying to determine what the circumstances of that altercation were,” said LAPD Capt. Jamie Bennett.
At one point, LAPD investigators said the 19-year-old, later identified as Iván Gallegos, He pulled out a knife and stabbed the robbery suspect several times..
After committing the stabbing, Gallegos remained at the scene and was arrested after being questioned by police officers.
