Paul McCartney turns 82: the Beatles phrase that will help you get through your worst moments – Up to date

Happy birthday Paul! Today Sir McCartney gets 82 chestnuts. They say that maturity brings wisdom, but we believe that the Beatle always had a lot of that. The phrase you are going to read proves it, although it is not about any of the group’s topics, it was said by one of its members and, to tell the truth, it seems like a great mantra to keep in mind in the worst moments.

In a 2021 interview with NPR (via Ultimate Guitar), MCartney recalled how, in the band’s early days, those from Liverpool suffered a car accident that almost cost them their lives and the phrase that was born from it, accompanying the group for the rest of their lives.

The band was on the road with their roadie when, out of nowhere, a blizzard appeared and caused the van the band was in to derail. Paul admitted that, at that moment, he thought: “Okay, this is all”.

“Yes, I think it was like being born again. Although, when it happened, it wasn’t what she was thinking, but rather: ‘How are we going to get to Liverpool?’McCartney recalls. “However, I have always thought that one of the best mantras was born from there. We were standing there, the four of us with the van destroyed and our roadie thinking, ‘Oh my god, how am I going to get this out of here?'”

“SOMETHING WILL HAPPEN”

“Because we fell down a hill. We couldn’t drive back up. So, we were sitting and someone said: ‘Well, what are we going to do now?’ And one of us, I don’t remember which one, said, ‘Something will happen.’ And it was like, ‘Wow, that’s the best line ever!'”

“Because, in life, when you face those crazy things, something will happen, and it has always been something that has comforted us. I have told a considerable number of people since then. When you are at your darkest moment, just remember this incredibly brilliant quote from The Beatles: ‘Something will happen.’”

And, after all this, what happened? This is how McCartney remembers it: “They took us, a truck picked us up. He took us through the blizzard to Liverpool, so something did happen in the end. I mean, I know it’s kind of a stupid thing to say, but it worked. “Sometimes that’s all you need, just something to get you out of your particular worry, and for us it worked.”

“So that was it: ‘Something will happen.’”
