Armie Hammer He is known in Hollywood for his outstanding roles in films such as ‘The Social Network’ with Justin Timberlake or ‘Call me by your name’, alongside Timothée Chalamet. In January 2021, serious allegations emerged against actor Armie Hammer when an anonymous Instagram account shared screenshots of text messages he had allegedly sent to several women referencing extreme sexual fantasies.

Hammer denied the veracity of these messages, calling them an “online attack.”

The actor’s lawyers maintained that all of his sexual interactions were consensual and asked Meta, the company behind Instagram, to provide records of the messages to prove his innocence, but have received no response.

One woman, who claimed to have had a relationship with Hammer, reported to the New York Post’s Page Six that he subjected her to emotional abuse and expressed cannibalistic desires, such as cooking and eating one of her ribs.

The woman also mentioned that she had to receive treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder because of the relationship. Another woman told Page Six that Hammer “marked” her and left “bruises on purpose,” in addition to talking about “consuming” her.

Hammer’s lawyer stated that these claims were “patently false.”

These allegations led to Hammer being fired from his agency, WME, and leaving several projects, including the Paramount Plus series “The Offer” and Jennifer Lopez’s “Shotgun Wedding.”

Armie Hammer said during an interview on the “Painful Lessons” podcast that the situation was “fun,” even though it ruined his career.

“People called me a cannibal and everyone believed them. They say, ‘Yeah, that guy ate people,’” he said, laughing.

“Like what? What are you talking about? Do you know what you have to do to be a cannibal? You have to eat people! How can I be a cannibal?! “It was strange,” she expressed.

Despite the negative impact on his life, Hammer expressed gratitude for the lessons learned as he said he is in a more fulfilled place in his life.

“Even in the disagreements, in whatever people said, whatever happened, I’m now in a place in my life where I’m grateful for every little thing,” Hammer said on the podcast.

The actor admitted that before the accusations, he didn’t know how to give himself love or self-validation, and that he depended on his career to get that validation from other people.

“I didn’t feel good. I never felt satisfied, I never had enough. I was never in a place where I was happy with myself, where I had self-esteem,” he confessed.

The accusations, according to Hammer, caused “the death of his ego and his career,” prompting him to join a 12-step program. He described the impact of the allegations as a “neutron bomb” that exploded in his life, wiping out his ego and alienating people he considered friends.

Concluding the podcast, Hammer admitted that his acting career is “nowhere” and that he is no longer a “viable asset” for the “Hollywood system.” However, he seeks new ways to express himself artistically.

Hammer had already spoken in a previous interview, in that case in writing, about the accusations. Although he denied having committed any crimes, acknowledged having engaged in emotionally abusive practicesattributing it to his interest in sadomasochism.
