Spanish GP: Schedules and channels for classification

The first day of Spanish Grand Prix has once again left the Red Bulls without first position in the two training sessions with the Mercedes engines dominating the times, although with different teams.

In the first practice it was Lando Norris who led the session with a time of 1m14.228s, beating Max Verstappen by just 0.024 seconds and leaving the Spanish Carlos Sainz in third position. George Russell and Sergio Pérez completed the top five.

The two-time Asturian champion caused the red flag in the first practice when a part of his front wing came off and had to be rescued.

In the second session, Lewis Hamilton achieved the best time with a time of 1m13.264s to beat Sainz by just 0.022s and Norris by 0.055s.

Pierre Gasly placed fourth while Verstappen only finished fifth. Charles Leclerc was sixth with Piastri in seventh, all of them less than four tenths apart.

Russell, Esteban Ocon and Valtteri Bottas completed the top 10 in the classification.
Sergio Pérez was only 13th just ahead of Fernando Alonso.
