A road tragedy shook the city of Cruz del Eje this Friday morning, when a motorcyclist lost her life in an accident involving two cars on National Route 38. The accident occurred around 9 a.m. at kilometer 121. , near the highway bridge over the Cruz del Eje River.
According to police sources, the victim, a young woman from the town of El Barrial, was traveling aboard a Keller 110 motorcycle. The fatal accident occurred when the motorcyclist tried to overtake a Fiat Stilo that was traveling in front of her without realizing the presence of a Fiat Cronos coming in the opposite direction.
The driver of the Fiat Cronos, while trying to avoid the collision, performed a maneuver that resulted in a collision with the motorcycle. As a result, the young woman lost control of her vehicle and fell onto the asphalt. At that moment, she was hit by the Fiat Stilo that was traveling behind her, which caused her death instantly.
Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene of the accident, but unfortunately they were unable to save the motorcycle driver. The scene of the accident, located in an area of high vehicular traffic near Avenida Costanera, was cordoned off while the corresponding investigations were carried out to determine the exact causes of the incident.
