Authorities seized thousands of pounds of illegal fireworks during one of the largest raids ever recorded in Southern California, officials announced Tuesday.
California Firefighters (Cal Fire) and Gardena Police Department officers seized more than 120,000 pounds of illegal fireworks in the South Bay area of Los Angeles.
The authorities’ operation It was executed at dawn this Saturday, June 22. at an undisclosed location, according to Cal Fire, where several people were arrested.

“The seizure included illegal, dangerous and public display fireworks up to 8 inches in diameter and more than 2,000 illegal destructive devices and 10 pounds of bulk homemade explosives,” the agency said in a statement.
The State Fire Marshal’s Arson and Bomb Unit responded to assist police in handling the extraordinary amount of pyrotechnics.
