In a match with few emotions, Canada beat Peru 1-0 :: Olé USA

Canadadebutant in the Copa América, achieved its first victory in the tournament, beating Peru 1-0 to keep alive its hope of reaching the quarterfinals. The Canadians, badly outplayed in the first half and seemingly unable to match Peru’s physicality and energy in the stifling Kansas City conditions, got a lifeline when Miguel Araujo was sent off in the 59th minute.

Jesse Marsch’s team made the most ofattacking on the counter-attack through Jonathan David in the 74th minute to secure three vital points ahead of their final Group A match against Chile on Saturday.
