Celine Dion showed the effects of the rigid person syndrome: “I know it’s hard for some”

Celine Dion has just released his documentary “I’m Celine Dion” where he reviews his career while showing what his days are like, after being diagnosed with stiff person syndrome.

The multi-award-winning artist opens up for the first time and talks about the neurological disorder that affects her while we can see the treatment she undergoes. The film directed by Irene Taylor shows the star in her moments of greatest anguish and the challenges that come with this strange condition that has kept her away from the stage since the end of 2022.

One of the most shocking moments of the documentary has to do with the episode that Céline had during the recording where she began to have convulsions. Faced with this situation, the artist decided to leave the shocking images in order to raise awareness among the audience.

“It was very disturbing. Very disturbing. I know it’s hard for some viewers, it was hard for me too. But I will tell you that Céline felt validated by seeing herself like that, and she thought it would help her if other people could understand what it’s like. [el SPS]…”explained Terrill Lobo, his therapist specialized in sports medicine.

And he added: “Part of the disease is that when you go into a contraction, sometimes the signal to release it is not understood, so it ends up staying in a contracted position.”

Dion also expressed: “I don’t know how to express it, it’s like… you know? Not having control of yourself,” she explained about what she feels about each episode. However, the artist assures that this condition will not stop her and she will continue fighting to improve. “If I can’t run, I will walk. If I can’t walk, I will crawl. But I won’t stop.”he asserted.

The documentary I am Celine Dion can be seen on Prime Video
