Basque singer Amaia Montero (1976) is one of the most recognisable voices of Spanish pop from the 90s. According to what was revealed on a television channel last week, the artist could return to the stage with the Oreja de Van Gogh. This was also reported by the well-known Instagram profile ‘Generación Millennial’.

The legendary singer of Oreja de Van Gogh left the group in 2007 to continue her solo career. A journey that began in 1996 together with those who would be her stage companions for 11 years. Among her most famous songs are ‘Cuéntame al oreja’, ‘París’, ‘La Playa’ or ‘Quiero ser’, among others.

Her solo career has gone through several stages, revolving around the recording of her albums and concerts. It was in 2020 when the singer, originally from Irún, decided to stop temporarily.

On this occasion, everything indicates that Amaia Montero has overcome her depression and returns like a phoenix to the group that saw her grow up. Pablo Benegas, Álvaro Fuentes, Xabi Dan Martín and Haritz Garde will once again share the stage with the artist, who would also do so with the group’s current vocalist, Leire Martínez.

Neither the singer nor the musicians have yet made any statements, but everything points to official news being known very soon.
