Ecovidrio unveils Aràn, the first virtual avatar created by Artificial Intelligence to promote glass recycling and sustainability

Aràn believes that technology and AI can be a magnificent tool to address the environmental challenge of our time. He is an active young man, full of concerns, dressed in a green hat, moved by a purpose: to promote a respectful relationship with a healthy, clean and green environment. He will take advantage of his digital personality to, mainly through Ecovidrio’s social networks, raise awareness of the need to connect with the world in which we live and encourage us to do our bit in the fight for the conservation of biodiversity, the containment of climate change or the correct management of waste, among others. He will also be in charge of debunking all the false myths that currently exist around glass recycling. Through video clips, Arán will explain to users how the trucks carry out the collection, how the recycling plants work or what environmental benefits are involved in recycling glass, among other issues.

For the moment, Arán “lives” on Ecovidrio’s social profiles (@Ecovidrio) although he plans to “travel” wherever he is needed to better carry out his purpose.

This is how Aràn introduced himself on Ecovidrio’s Instagram:

Hello everyone! I’m Aràn, the first virtual avatar created with Artificial Intelligence with a very clear mission: to defend the environment, contribute to the fight against climate change and inspire sustainable attitudes such as glass recycling.

Coinciding with #WorldEnvironmentDay, I present myself with Ecovidrio as an environmental ambassador. With my green hat and my passion for sustainability, I want to motivate you to take care of our planet.

Through my videos and content, I will show you how glass collection is carried out, how recycling plants work and the environmental benefits of this practice. I will also dispel all the false myths that exist among us and that it is important to banish once and for all.

Will you join me on this journey?

Arán is Ecovidrio’s new project that shows its firm commitment to digitalization and Artificial Intelligence. Citizens will be able to pay attention to the latest messages from Aràn through the entity’s social networks, especially Instagram and TikTok, social networks par excellence to connect with a young audience with great concerns about respect for our surroundings and environment. Borja Martiarena, Marketing Director of Ecovidrio, points out that “Ecovidrio is a pioneer in the use of artificial intelligence and data analysis to improve the management of the selective collection of glass containers and that experience leads us to the development of Aràn. Aràn is a perfect ambassador for Ecovidrio and the environment, and he arrives at the right time for us to also be pioneers in terms of citizen awareness with artificial intelligence”

Artificial intelligence to boost the circular economy

Environmental outreach through an artificial intelligence avatar is another step by the entity towards a more sustainable world with the help of the most innovative technology.

In this sense, Ecovidrio has been a pioneer in putting Artificial Intelligence and data analytics at the service of the glass container recycling sector. This technology is a decisive lever for the entity because it allows it to analyze the data it collects daily in green containers, prepare a diagnosis based on these figures, and develop specific strategic plans to increase the selective collection of glass containers in a certain region or municipality of our country.

Within its Strategic Digital Transformation Plan, the entity carries out its Ecobarrios project, with which it seeks to raise awareness among citizens and eliminate the barriers they may have when recycling their glass containers. Ecovidrio thus has an innovative tool, based on AI, that allows it to analyze the collection figures of almost 300,000 geolocated containers, cross them with sociodemographic data and make predictions of collection potential in that area to improve selective collection figures.
