In response, he indicated that he will not make that information public, since he has not yet decided whether to accept the proposal.
“If I’m not going to accept it, why am I saying it? And if I do accept it, why am I saying it? I’m going to think about it,” he said on June 27.
Even so, he made a statement that possibly ruled out that the former president of the capital had offered him to be part of her team in the executive branch.
“We never talked about the possibility of me being in the cabinet.. I never had an expectation like that,” she said.
Although he mentioned understanding that it is difficult to believe, since in “politics” it is customary to fight over charges.
On the other hand, the former federal deputy expressed his gratitude for having Sheinbaum’s trust, which he assured is more important than any position he could occupy in the next six-year term.
“Let’s see, first I think it is very important that she has confirmed to me that communication is expeditious and open, and that is a privilege and a responsibility. I am very grateful for her level of trust and that seems to me to be the most important position than any other she could have, permanent access,” she said.
He also reiterated that, as he mentioned in his most recent press conference, the unity of the self-proclaimed Fourth Transformation (4T) is the priority.
“The unity of the movement, that is the key, the rest is anecdotal and secondary,” he said.
Gerardo Fernandez Norona will not seek to lead any committee in the Senate during the next legislature, as stated in a meeting with the media that he called this morning. He stressed that his decision will not break the unity of the movement, despite the conflict with Brunette for allegedly not honoring an agreement.
The senator stressed that, despite his criticism, he will not create a split in the movement. “From this moment, I announce that I will not request to head any Commission or position within the Senate,” he declared.
Noroña also criticized the president’s statements Lopez Obradorwho said the agreement on job sharing only applied to members of Brunette involved in the internal process. According to Noroña, this goes against the principles of the movement that he promotes.
In particular, he accused López Obrador of creating a distinction between first- and second-class militants, leaving aside those who are part of Morena’s allies: the Labor Party (PT) and the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM). .
