The advantage of becoming a United States citizen is unique and gives many people the opportunity to help others by voting, which is why the information that the Latino community can obtain from organizations like Crosier Village Ministries is of vital importance.

The religious community of Catholic priests and brothers in Phoenix provides assistance to people who have immigration questions and concerns related to citizenship, permanent residence, replacement or renewal of documents, applications and visas. It also helps students develop the necessary English skills to pass the test.

Crosier Village Ministries is offering a series of free citizenship classes in south Phoenix this summer. Classes will include information critical to becoming a U.S. citizen, such as what is required to apply, how to prepare for the citizenship test, and what will be included in the naturalization interview.

When are the courses?

Crossier Village Ministries will offer five free classes from 1 to 3 pm:

  • June 29, 2024
  • July 6, 2024
  • July 20, 2024
  • July 27, 2024
  • August 3, 2024

The class location is at Crosier Village Church (717 E. Southern Ave., Phoenix), on the corner of Southern Avenue and 7th Street.

All classes are taught in English. Participants are encouraged to bring a language assistant if they do not understand or speak English.

In the event that someone forgets or misses a class, Priest Stephan Bauer, who also helps teach the courses, said they can go to the next class because all the classes cover the same topics.
