Amazon and the town of Medinaceli, in Soria, have made history by achieving the Guinness World Records title for the largest band during the celebration of ‘Las Fiestas Prime Day’, an event that took place in the iconic town of Soria. With 269 musicians, 30 bands from all over the country, they played for 6 minutes and in unison three of the musical classics that cannot be missed in any band: ‘Paquito el Chocolatero’, ‘La Sandía’ and ‘La Amapola’.

Following the judges’ assessment and decision, the participating bands made the Plaza Mayor of Medinaceli vibrate when the time came to collect the official title.

“We are very happy to have achieved the Guinness World Records title for the largest brass band during the celebration of ‘Las Fiestas Prime Day’. We would like to thank the brass bands that participated, the organization of the title and, of course, Medinaceli and its neighbors who welcomed us with so much love and enthusiasm. This achievement reflects the spirit of community and celebration that was experienced during the day and is the best way to demonstrate our commitment to the rural environment and welcome Prime Day, which Prime customers will enjoy on July 16 and 17,” said Alfonso Serrano, director of Consumer Affairs at Amazon.

ACTIVITIES FOR EVERYONE

The ‘Prime Day’ festivities began with the traditional opening speech, which was given by Gregorio Miguel Santander, mayor of Medinaceli, and Ana Costi, head of Amazon Prime for Europe.

In addition, they were accompanied by content creators Xuso Jones (who acted as a town crier for the second consecutive year) and Violeta Mangriñán. Also Lalo Tenorio, leading actor in the film ‘A Hipster in Empty Spain’ available on Prime Video.

Throughout the day, attendees had the opportunity to enjoy a large number of activities, such as the ‘Prime Box’, a giant Amazon box located in the Plaza Mayor of Medinaceli, where they were able to learn about all the benefits that Amazon offers to Prime customers, as well as discover exclusively some of the offers that will be available on Prime Day.

They also visited the ‘Spain at a click’ small business market, where a representation of the more than 15,000 small and medium-sized companies that sell on the Amazon website showed and sold their products.

In ‘Prime Day Parties’ there was no shortage of popular food from Amazon Fresh and activities throughout the day such as popular games or fair stalls. The highlight of the day was the successful achievement of the title for the largest charanga.
