Organized by the Brotherhood of San Pedro Apóstol, it is one of the events in which most residents of all ages participate, dressed in regional costume.
Last night, the patron saint festivities of San Pedro del Pinatar saw one of its most traditional events, the long-awaited offering of fruits to the Patron, which brought together hundreds of neighbors dressed in regional costume.
The large procession, made up of associations, groups, brotherhoods, clubs and residents, paraded through the streets of the town, starting from Plaza Luis Molina and arriving at Plaza de la Constitución to honour the patron saint by handing out vegetables, fruit and vegetables which, after the event, were donated to Cáritas.
Associations and groups, such as the Holy Week brotherhoods or the clubs of the popular barracks, the courts of honor of the Queens of the Festivals, local authorities and hundreds of neighbors took the tour that was enlivened by the regional dances of the Peña El Caldero, accompanied by the rondalla, as well as by the Unión Musical municipal band, which closed it.
In the Offering, organized by the Brotherhood of San Pedro Apóstol, neighbors of all ages placed approximately 450 kilos of fruits and vegetables in baskets at the feet of the image of San Pedro Apóstol.
After the offering, the president of the Brotherhood of San Pedro, Alfonso Pérez, made a request to the patron saint and the parish priest, Pedro César Carrillo and the mayor, Pedro Javier Sánchez, thanked the people of Pinatar for their participation and invited the neighbours to continue enjoying the festivities.
The programming of the Patron Saint festivities continues today, Saturday, June 29, the feast of San Pedro Apóstol, with an extensive program of activities among which the Livestock Fair stands out, in the pine forest next to the Messengers of Peace residence, the mass concelebrated in honor of the Patron Saint at 12:00 p.m. in the church of San Pedro Apóstol, the procession with the image of the saint through the streets of the municipality at 8:30 p.m. or the traditional Saint Peter’s Day Concert by the municipal music band “Unión Musical”.
