Lowrdes was part of the group Bandana, formed through the reality show Popstars, which brought her together with Ivonne Guzmán, Valeria Gastaldi, Lissa Vera and Virginia da Cunha to sing great hits like “Guapas” and “Llega la noche”. After breaking up at their most successful moment in 2004 They had a reunion in 2016, but not all the members returned for Banda’s return.

Lowrdes Fernández on Bandana’s separation: “I wasn’t going to do it anymore”

This Wednesday the singer, host and composer known as Lowrdes visited Fer Dente’s show, Noche al Dente, and spoke about the separation of the iconic band from the 2000s.

The artist confessed to the host and member Olga her beginnings in the bandto. “The truth is I went to Bandana to kill time and not go to work. At that time she was tattooing and working nights for an energizer brand. It was like ‘supermarket or casting’. And I went there alone” Fernandez explained.

“Why did Bandana break up at the time?” Dente dared to ask. “We hated each other, just like now… It had to be said and it was said” replied Spicy Lowrdes.

“You saw that they say that you have to leave the party when they are at their best. “You guys got off by yourself,” Fernando analyzed, so the singer explained that it was a simple coincidence. “Actually it was because a time had come. We were in therapy, the five of us, and if you listen to each of our individual albums you can tell. We were at the height of our songwriting career.” declared the former Bandana.

“And what did they feel? What wasn’t going anymore? the driver inquired. “Yes, out of respect for people, basically. I think you have to give a thousand percent there.. It’s not about changing jobs, but about changing environments,” stated the guest.

The band broke up in 2004, just 3 years after forming Bandan.to. It took more than a decade for Valerica, Lourdes, Lisa and Valeria to reunite on stage. However, Ivonne decided not to return to that meeting, since he is currently a vocalist in one of the most popular cumbia bands in the country, La Delio Valdez.
