On June 17, 2024, Forbes Vietnam announced the “50 Best Listed Companies in Vietnam 2024”. This year was the 12th time that Forbes Vietnam published the list, among which Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS) had been consistently ranked.

To professionally compile the list of “Vietnam 50 Best Listed Companies 2024”, companies listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HSX) and the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) underwent several phases of evaluation by by Forbes Vietnam. In the initial round, they were shortlisted meeting criteria such as profitability in 2023, with minimum revenue and a market capitalization of 500 billion dong. In the subsequent stages, they were evaluated based on five quantitative criteria: compound growth rate of revenue, profits, ROE, ROC and EPS growth from 2019 to 2023.

Forbes Vietnam also conducts qualitative assessments to evaluate sustainable business development, taking into account factors such as industry position, profit sources, quality of corporate governance and industry outlook. The list benefits from quantitative calculations provided by Ho Chi Minh City Securities Corporation (HSC). The cut-off date for market capitalization was May 30, 2024, with financial data based on audited consolidated financial statements for 2023.

Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) has included five units in the list of Vietnam’s top 50 listed companies in 2024, including PV GAS (stock code: GAS); Petrovietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC, stock code: PVS); Petrovietnam Insurance Corporation (stock code: PVI); Petrovietnam Transportation Corporation (stock code: PVT); and Petrovietnam Power Corporation (stock code: POW).

In the initial round, they were shortlisted based on criteria such as profitability by 2023, minimum revenue and market capitalisation of 500 billion dong.

PV GAS, trading as GAS, achieved impressive revenue and profits in 2023 to secure its 12th consecutive year in the Top 50, in the face of significant market and supply challenges. As of December 29, 2023, PV GAS reached a market capitalization of VND 173,404 million. In addition, the Corporation recorded ROA and ROE ratios greater than 13% and 18%, respectively, with a high distribution of cash dividends at a payout ratio of 60% of share capital in 2023.

Forbes Vietnam plans to hold the Top 50 Listed Companies Awards Ceremony on August 22, 2024 at the Gem Center in Ho Chi Minh City.
