Since its debut in January 1990, ‘The Simpsons’ has become one of the most beloved series on television. Over the course of its 34 years on the air, the series has given life to a wide range of characters, one of which will no longer appear alongside Homer.

This is Larry Dalrymple, also known as Larry the Barfly, the character who died in the new episode of “The Simpsons”, who silently accompanied Homer and his three friends since the beginning of the series in 1990. After 34 seasons, the character died in Moe’s Tavern. Despite his constant presence in the tavern since the beginning of the series, Larry never had a leading role nor did he utter a single line of dialogue. His character consisted of silently observing the events that were happening around him.

Furthermore, he used to sit in the same corner of the bar, drinking beer and watching the other customers. She was sometimes seen interacting with other characters such as Moe or Lenny, but these interactions were generally brief and superficial. Finally, in this Sunday’s episode “Cremains of the Day” from season 35, Larry suddenly dies in his usual position at the bar, in the presence of Moe, Homer, Lenny and Carl, who attend his funeral. The episode shows how little the characters know about Larry and they embark on a journey to spread his ashes.

Throughout the 35 seasons of The Simpsons, several characters have met their end in the series. Some of them have had discreet games, while others have had more memorable moments.

Maude Flanders, the Simpson family’s neighbor, died in season 8 after falling from the stands during a car race at Springfield Stadium. Frank Grimes, a coworker of Homer who hated him so much that he committed suicide trying to imitate him in season 8.
