Last week, Disney+ had us hooked with the premiere of season 20 of Grey’s Anatomythe romance of Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott in Unknown and the long-awaited documentary Thank You, Goodnight by Bon Jovi, among other things. On this occasion, the streaming platform wanted to give us a dose of animation with the second season of Monsters at worka series derived from the mythical SA monstersand the sequel to The Jedi Chroniclesfrom the Star Wars universe. But that’s not all, because the main novelty has a name and surname: Matthew Shardlakea miniseries that brings together all the ingredients to become the best historical mystery series it’s from the season.

Take note of the release dates of the three titles arriving this week, one of them already available in its entirety in the Disney+ catalog and two others that will do so just in time to liven up your weekend:

Matthew Shardlake

Based on the popular mystery novels by British author CJ Sansom, this miniseries set in the 16th century England offers a look at the dissolution of the monasteries in the turbulent Tudor era. The plot follows lawyer Matthew Shardlake (Arthur Hughes), an intelligent and hard-working man whose life is turned upside down when Thomas Cromwell (Sean Bean), Earl of Essex and Henry VIII’s right-hand man, entrusts him with the mission of investigate a murder.

Shardlake is sent to the remote Scarnsea Monastery, where he will have to investigate the suspicious death of Robin Singleton, an emissary who had been gathering evidence for the closure of the monastery, something vital for Cromwell’s political survival. Accompanied by Jack Barack (Anthony Boyle), his arrogant and ambitious assistant, Shardlake will soon find himself involved in a web of lies that will endanger your lifediscovering that corruption is the order of the day.

The miniseries consists of four chapterswith a duration of approximately 50 minutes each. Is available on Disney+ from Wednesday, May 1.

Star Wars: Chronicles of the Empire

Star Wars: Chronicles of the Empire It is an animated series, sequel to The Jedi Chronicleswhich follows two warriors who face the ruthless Galactic Empire in different times. The first is Morgan Elsbeth, a young woman who seeks revenge after having lost everything, and the second is Barriss Offee, a former Jedi who fights every day to survive in a constantly evolving galaxy.

An history about epic battles, betrayals and lots of science fiction, where the decisions made by the two warriors will define their destinies. Additionally, the series promises to explore secrets and expand knowledge about the Star Wars universe beyond the Jedi.

The series consists of six chapters, with a duration of approximately 15 minutes each. It will be available on Disney+ from Saturday May 4.

Monsters at Work (Season 2)

Monsters at work is a series derived from SA monsters, the Pixar and Walt Disney Studios film that caused a sensation in 2001, winning an Oscar for ‘Best Animated Film’. After Mr. Waternoose ended up in prison for trying to kidnap thousands of children, Mike and Sulley took over the Monsters Inc. company, but now they’ll have to learn to laugh.ra children instead of scaring them.
