Quique Jimenezpopularly known as Torito, celebrated his first anniversary this Monday, May 6, as a collaborator of zapping. The communicator wanted to thank the laSexta program for the opportunity they gave him after leaving Mediaset España, an exit that he also referred to live, confessing through tears the reason why he decided to leave Telecinco after two decades on the network.

The talk show host has assured that it took him “seven months” to become part of Atresmedia’s evening program. “Well, I didn’t give up coolie!”, he joked about his conversations with the network. Despite everything, he managed to sign for the format and is now excitedly celebrating his first year as a collaborator.

“This program has given me a lot of life, because I came from a complicated situation and you have given me a very good vibe,” he explained live. “Do you know what it’s like to come to a program and have everyone take care of you?“, continues Torito, who although he has acknowledged that “he should not talk about this”, has recalled his departure from Mediaset.

“I made the most difficult decision of my life, which was to leave Mediaset after 20 years. I left it overnight because they started treating me badly and I left. I arrived here super unmotivated, It was very difficult to make you laugh when your heart wants to cry”, he expressed with a broken voice. At that moment, the rest of the collaborators got up to hug their partner.

Finally, Torito has sent a message to viewers, encouraging them to leave their job if they are not respected or do not feel well treated, “even if you go to a place where you earn less, as is my case,” he added with humor.

This is not the first time that Torito has spoken openly about his departure from Mediaset. The collaborator starred in his last report on the program Live life on Sunday, June 19, 2022, news that he announced on his social networks acknowledging the disagreement with the program’s management: “I have decided to get off the sailboat before it reaches port, since the wind blowing from the boss was sometimes not in favor“, wrote.

Later, Quique Jiménez would affirm in an interview that he left the format “due to disagreements with the director.” “I wanted to reduce my section even more, when it was already very short-lived, and had been open to audiences since 2017. But I couldn’t force him to like what I did there,” he said about Raul Prietowho at that time directed the now defunct Emma García program.

In 2020, the collaborator recognized in his ‘Ladder of emotions’ the disappointment he felt with Mediaset. “I know it’s bad to say it because I’ve been in this network for 18 years and everything I have I have thanks to her. I thank you very much, but I think that for 18 years I have never been called to do any casting, I have never been called to be anything else in the chain”, he asserted.

“It’s not that I want to be a Telecinco presenter, but you do see opportunities pass in front of you and that never happen to you. I thank the program and the network itself, because I could not live without you, but I think that I deserve more than going out for five minutes to be a fool in this program,” he excitedly claimed.
