‘Perverso’ and ‘Muertos SL’, violence and humor: two ways of understanding entertainment | Television

They are two possible ways of understanding entertainment: drama and comedy. Dramatic is Perversea kind of continuation of Parot in which physical and sexual violence are the queens of the house. In Dead SL, However, it is the humor that predominates, which is appreciated when the action, practically all of it, takes place in a funeral home, a possible and fun tribute to Luis García Berlanga who whenever he saw a car from said companies he touched the piece of wood that he carried in his pocket.

In Perverse There are two absolute protagonists: Iván Massagué, who had already played Parot, and Kira Miró in the role of the judge who had imprisoned Massagué and who becomes the vengeful obsession of the Machiavellian murderer. The eight episodes of the first season are shown on Amazon Prime Video and are created by Alonso Laporta. The violence manifests itself in a double aspect: on the one hand, the obstinacy in the revenge of the imprisoned psychopath and, on the other, the appearance of an unbalanced person willing to kidnap and kill those who he considers responsible for social inequality. Add to this the frequent proclivity of the powerful for capital evasion and the resulting tax fraud and you will have a credible fresco of the characters of Perverse.

Muertos SLfor its part, is further proof of the mastery of ensemble comedies by the brothers Alberto and Laura Caballero, responsible for such popular series as There is no one living here and The one that is coming. After the death of Gonzalo Torregrosa, founder and owner of the funeral home that bears his name, Dámaso Carrillo, his trusted man (a wonderful Carlos Areces), is convinced that he will assume the presidency of the company. He did not count on his widow, who decides to take responsibility for it, helped by an absolutely useless son-in-law (Diego Martín). Carrillo’s astonishment is compounded by his resentment at society’s behavior in difficult times: “During the pandemic we had more work than anyone else, with more risk than anyone else, but who was applauded at eight o’clock on the balconies? To the health workers. Nothing to us, not a gesture, not a little song on Instagram. People prefer to think that we don’t exist but whether they want it or not… one day everyone will need us.” Eight fun chapters on Movistar Plus+ that allow you to de-dramatize and relax in the face of the inevitable.
