Layoffs in the Culture and Entertainment area of ​​Channel 13

The profound restructuring process of Channel 13 continues, considering that the surprising resignation of Maximiliano Luksic to the position of Executive Director. Now, they have been informed a series of layoffs in the Culture and Entertainment Area of ​​Channel 13.

According to what was reported by Fotech.cl, a series of layoffs were recently announced in the Culture Area of ​​the former Angelito station. According to what was found out, these layoffs are due to the creation of a new unit dedicated to Entertainment and Culture.

In that line, Carla Borquez, an executive who was in charge of the Culture Area, was dismissed from the station. Regarding this new unit, it is Felipe Morales, former Entertainment Program Director, who assumes leadership.

In this way, Morales will take over as Executive Producer of this new department, which merges Culture and Entertainment with the purpose of expand the range of content of weekend programs.

It should be noted that, in 2020, the communicator was assigned as director of the Viña del Mar Festival. A year before that, he was in charge of television direction for comedians, especially Jorge Alís. Likewise, he supervised the broadcast of Raphael’s show.

Layoffs at Channel 13

“Entertainment and Culture” will be in charge of programs such as “What does Chile say!”, “Partners around the World”, “Places that Talk”, “The Place Where I Grew Up” and “There is Always a Chilean”, as well as future projects coming up at the station.

Finally, regarding the number of layoffs that were carried out, Channel 13 has not specified it, but it is stipulated that there should not be many. This, considering that the Culture Area did not completely disappear: Entertainment absorbed her, rather.
