An anime adaptation of the popular manga premiered in April Kaiju No. 8work of the writer and designer of Japanese mangaka Naoya Matsumoto. The comic began to be published in 2020 from the Shonen Jump Shueisha magazine. Two years later it already had more than 8 million copies circulating.

It is a production of Production IG, with Studio Khara supervising the designs of the Kaijuu. The direction is by Shigeyuki Miya and Tomomi Kamiya, with the script by Ichiro Okouchi and the character designs by Tetsuya Nishio. The music will be controlled by Yuta Bando.

The story takes place in Japan, a country invaded by monsters called kaijuu that cause catastrophe wherever they go. To combat them, the Defense Corpsannihilate these monsters, and the Monster Sweeper, they clean the exterminated corpses. Kafka Hibino is a man who works for Monster Sweeper, dissatisfied because he always dreamed of being part of the Defense Corps. His life changes when he ends up hospitalized and a small kaijuu enters his body, granting him the ability to transform and turning him into the Kaiju No.8.

The producers confirmed the release date of the tenth episode: will be this Saturday June 15. The opening theme, Abyss performed by YUNGBLUD, and the closing theme, Nobody performed by OneRepublic.

In addition, the series has already confirmed the total extension of its First season: it will be of 12 episodes.
