The actress Martha Isabel Bolañosknown for her iconic role in ‘I am Betty the Ugly one’, expressed his surprise upon learning that he was not part of the second season of the successful soap opera, which will premiere on July 19 on Amazon Prime Video. After her participation in the reality show ‘The House of the Famous’Bolaños has offered several interviews, revealing unpublished details of his time on the show and sharing his thoughts on the most recent trailer for the sequel.

The RCN channel also announced that it will soon retransmit the first version of ‘Yo soy Betty, la fea’ to align with the “bettymania” that has resurfaced with the new version, which will feature a large part of the original cast. However, the absence of Bolaños, who played Jenny, has generated curiosity and questions among followers of the television classic.

In a conversation on the radio program El Corrillo de Mao, Martha Isabel explained that she did not know the reasons for her exclusion. “A year and a half ago, when it first started, my manager told me: ‘Martica, they are going to do Ugly Betty again and your character isn’t in it.’ I told him ‘that’s it, okay, nothing’s wrong’, I took it as normal. Then I realized that almost everyone was going, except Sofía, who was like my rival and because Raúl Santa had already died.”said the actress.

Bolaños thought that the absence of these characters could have made his role less relevant. However, he does not rule out the possibility of participating if there were a third season. Furthermore, he mentioned that, although they called her at the last minute for this new installment, she was not able to participate due to the delay.

The actress also reflected on how this new generation will receive the sequel, highlighting the necessary changes in the narrative to adapt to current times. “You can’t do things like you did before,” she exemplified, referring to the scenes where Don Armando yelled at Betty, emphasizing that such behaviors are no longer acceptable and threaten the integrity of the woman.
