4 moments that made us dizzy in episodes 9 and 10 of “The Midnight Romance In Hagwon”

The story moves faster and we are finally seeing more and more of the romantic aspect of “The Midnight Romance in Hagwon”. Although episode 10 focused more on after-school politics, both episodes portrayed Seo Hye Jin’s honeymoon phase quite well (Jung Ryeo Won) and Lee Joon Ho
(Wi Ha Joon). Therefore, here are four moments that made viewers dizzy in recent episodes of “The Midnight Romance in Hagwon.”

Warning: spoilers for episodes 9 and 10 below!

Hye Jin and Joon Ho can’t stay away from each other

It’s normal for couples in their honeymoon phase (the happy initial stage of a new relationship) to be unable to stay away from each other. This is exactly what happens with Hye Jin and Joon Ho. After spending the entire day working together, they arrive at Hye Jin’s apartment building and don’t want to leave each other. Joon Ho receives a call from his friend and has to go home immediately, but as soon as he finishes, he runs back to Hye Jin’s apartment, where she waits patiently for him. No matter how much time they spend together, it seems like they would fight the gods themselves to increase the number of hours in a day just to have more time together.

Often, once the honeymoon stage is over, the excitement fades. However, based on the intensity of Hye Jin and Joon Ho’s relationship, it’s doubtful they’ll ever want to be within walking distance of each other.

“Hye Jin, I love you.”

There are two main confession scenes that occur in a romantic drama or movie: one is when one or both main protagonists confess their feelings towards each other and start dating, and another is when they confess their undying love for each other. As viewers, we have the opportunity to analyze Joon Ho’s innermost feelings, so we already know that he is in love with Hye Jin. However, even though they leave her, Hye Jin doesn’t know about his love for her.

All her lingering doubts were cleared up in last week’s episode when Joon Ho confessed his love for her. It wasn’t a dramatic moment or a grand gesture; He laid his heart out in front of her in the calm of Hye Jin’s apartment, a metaphor for what her life will be like in the future: peaceful and together.

Sneaking around like teenagers in love

As we discovered in last week’s episodes, Hye Jin never experienced teenage love. She had the responsibility of paying her parents’ debt and earning her living. Under all that pressure, she never had time to act like her peers. While her classmates dated and found out her preferences in partners, Hye Jin worked various jobs to save money. Because of all her wasted time, she now feels out of place and doesn’t fit in. That’s why the scenes of her and Joon Ho hanging around as teenage lovers feel extremely sweet.

In episode nine, after spending the night together, Joon Ho goes home in the morning to get ready for work. But since they both missed each other, they sneak into one of the empty classrooms to meet before going to the staff room. Their plan is to leave the room separately so as not to arouse suspicion. One thing leads to another, and one of her coworkers is about to realize that Hye Jin and Joon Ho were together in the same empty classroom, but Hye Jin saves the day.

Although the situation could have had somewhat serious consequences, it seems to be healing Hye Jin’s inner teenager, who didn’t get to experience first love and all its dizzying moments.

Joon Ho learning to be a better partner

In terms of K-drama boyfriends, Joon Ho is by far one of the greenest flags out there. He respects Hye Jin and is always willing to do anything for her. However, Joon Ho is a flawed human. One of his flaws is thinking that Hye Jin is invincible and the strongest person who has ever existed. Although his intentions are good and he sees Hye Jin in a positive light, his perfect perception of her leads him to give her space when she really needs more support.

Mrs. Nam (So Ju Yeon) explains how she made a mistake and, although Hye Jin is a strong woman, she also needs someone to lean on. Intervention scenes are not uncommon in dramas, but Joon Ho immediately takes the advice and implements it. This shows that he really wants to work on becoming a better boyfriend and a better person to Hye Jin in general.
