A fish with three eyes has caused a great sensation on social networks due to the similarity with the animal with similar characteristics and an extra eye cavity from the series ‘The Simpsons’
The creature was caught in Greenland and the images quickly went viral, as it had an eye on the left and right side, like any other herbivorous animal and a third on the top of his head.
After going viral, many began to wonder if the three eyes of this animal were functional: “It is most likely that one of the three is not working correctly”, “You can see that the fish suffers from exophthalmia in the left eye”, say some of the comments.
When the photo went viral, many also compared the strange creature to Blinky from The Simpsons.

The first appearance of this creature occurred in 1990, the episode the owner of the nuclear power plant, Mr. Burns, is faced with the reality that his business has wreaked havoc on the environment, giving rise to creatures with malformations such as a three-eyed fish.
“So Springfield was in Greenland!”, “Another example of The Simpsons doing it before”, “It took a few decades, but The Simpsons achieved another”, were some of the comments on networks.

This is not the first time a fish with three eyes has been seen. In 2012 in Argentina, a creature with this same malformation was caught: “As it was night, we didn’t realize it at the time. Then someone with a flashlight looked at it and realized it had a third eye and called us,” commented the fisherman at the time.
The fish was in the possession of another of the fishermen, who performed some biological tests on it and then embalmed it to keep it as a souvenir.
