“Marcia investigated thoroughly and spoke with Máxima’s family, friends and colleagues, so it is quite truthful. But, of course, we don’t know exactly what happened behind closed doors, so we gave it our own interpretation,” he explained. the director.
“As many things in the story are dramatized or invented, I considered it fiction from the beginning. I deliberately did not research too much into its past, so that I could continue to view the story with the eyes of a neutral outsider,” he added.
When asked if he believed that Maximum would watch the series, responded that he has already said “that he will not watch it.” “I understand that she says it, because then she doesn’t have to say what she thinks either,” said the director who assured that, although the queen does not want her daughters to see her, she has taken into account “that her daughters will see her.”
“There are intimate scenes in the series and I thought it was important, partly for that reason, that those scenes were in good taste,” Saskia Diesing assured regarding the possibility of Amalia, Alexia and Ariane seeing the fiction.
