The US moved additional fighters to the region

The Pentagon announced that fighter squadrons deployed to the Middle East before this weekend will remain in the region longer.

Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder, Pentagon Press Secretary, reported that both Air Force fighter squadrons in the area and U.S. Navy fleets in the Mediterranean Sea joined together in an operation Sunday morning to neutralize Iranian missiles and drones.

The destroyers USS Carney and USS Arleigh Burke, belonging to the United States Navy, intercepted missiles over the sea during this confrontation.

In relation to the statements of the head of the Israel Defense Forces, Herzi Halevi, who assured that any Iranian attack would receive a forceful response, Ryder pointed out that Israel’s action would be decisive. “We do not wish to escalate the situation, but we will certainly take the necessary measures to ensure the protection of our forces present in the region,” Ryder explained, adding that the United States is also committed to protecting Israel’s security.

When asked whether these actions could affect stability in the Middle East, Ryder stressed that the United States will continue to work closely with Israel, as it has done throughout the weekend. “We are not seeking to provoke a broader regional conflict,” he concluded.
