A 16-year-old boy opened fire early Sunday morning at a party held in the city of Sanford (Florida, USA), wounding at least ten people, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The teenager, who was arrested shortly after because a patrol was in the area, went to a place called Cabana Live after midnight where a private party was taking place and, after a “a“verbal altercation that escalated”fired into the crowd, the authorities detailed.
“Upon arrival, officers heard multiple gunshots coming from the rear of the establishment, causing the crowd to disperse,” the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office said in its statement.
The shooter was immobilized with the help of the security personnel of this establishment who, as he later thanked, checked that all its workers were “safe”.
“The result was that a total of ten victims suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, primarily to the lower extremities.“, the authorities stated.
Cabana Live is an event venue and restaurant located in Sanford, about 18 miles north of Orlando.
