Sources from the Chinese Foreign Ministry confirmed that the minister will visit the cities of Beijing and Shanghai from this Sunday until the 30th of the current month, with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations, as well as promoting cooperation in strategic spheres, it was reported.

During his stay in the Asian nation, Sosa will address an agenda that includes cooperation issues in areas such as tourism, technology, energy and other sectors of mutual interest.

The parties consider that this is an important milestone on the international agenda regarding diplomatic ties between both States, strengthened by the dialogue between high-level representatives, both in Bolivia and China.

This stay of the Chancellor in the Asian giant has as its immediate precedent her official visit to Russia, and reaffirms the commitment of the Plurinational State to strengthen cooperation and constructive dialogue on the international stage, in the context of the Diplomacy of the People for Life.

At the beginning of February, the minister ratified Bolivia’s support for the one-China policy in a speech regarding the Spring Festival.

Speaking at the headquarters of the Chinese embassy in La Paz, Sosa reaffirmed the commitment to consolidate bilateral ties with a nation that he described as a sister.

During 2024, the South American nation and China will celebrate 38 years of establishing diplomatic relations, with the mutual commitment to peace and development, according to a report from the Foreign Ministry.

In this sense, Sosa highlighted that the Government of President Luis Arce is characterized by the construction of the economy for living well towards industrialization with import substitution.

In this regard, he mentioned the agreements signed between Chinese companies and Yacimientos de Litio Bolivianos.

This state corporation signed agreements with world-class Chinese firms to industrialize evaporite with direct lithium extraction (EDL) technology in two pilot plants.

Other items of Bolivian origin of exportable quality in which China is one of the main consumer partners are meat and other minerals.

For his part, the Chinese ambassador to Bolivia, Wang Liang, highlighted the strategic relationship between the two nations, which is experiencing sustainable and stable development, which contributes to the consolidation of the economy of the Plurinational State through bilateral work and industrialization. .
