The fine against Donald Trump

During the long statements on Tuesday, Trump closed his eyes and leaned back in his chair several times, something that is already common in this trial.

On this day, The Republican candidate for this year’s presidential election was fined $9,000 by Judge Juan M. Merchan. for contempt of the ‘gag order’ that prohibits him from publicly attacking witnesses, prosecutors and members of the jury.

Trump also had to delete the seven “offensive posts” from Truth Social and the two “offensive posts” from his campaign website before 2:15 p.m. local time on Tuesday, which he did.

But that did not mean that Trump stopped showing his discontent about the case, which he has described more than once as a “witch hunt,” because around that same time he said on his social network that Merchan had taken away his “constitutional right to freedom of expression.”

“I am the only presidential candidate in history who is gagged,” he noted in his message.

It wasn’t all bad news for Trump, as Merchan gave him permission to attend the graduation of his youngest son, Barron Trump, on May 17, the day there will be no trial.
