“Based on the factual information and legal arguments presented by the parties, the Court concludes that, as present, the circumstances are not such as to require the exercise of his power…to indicate provisional measures,” said Nawaf Salam, the president of the ICJ.

The case is not closed yet

However, the panel of 16 judges refused to dismiss the case entirelywhich means that it will continue to be heard in Court.

Salam said the judicial body “remains deeply concerned about the catastrophic living conditions of Palestinians in the Gaza Stripespecially in view of the prolonged and widespread deprivation of food and other basic needs to which they have been subjected.

Germany argued in the hearings of the case that has barely exported weapons to Israel since the Israeli offensive in Gaza began following the deadly attack in southern Israel by Hamas militants on October 7.

Nicaragua assures that Germany is allowing genocide

Nicaragua, a former ally of the Palestinians, alleges that Germany is enabling genocide by sending weapons and other support to Tel Aviv. Tuesday’s ruling by the International Court of Justice refers only to preliminary orders in a case that is likely It will take years to resolve. Germany rejects the accusations.

Israel, which is not a party to the Nicaragua-Germany case, strongly denies that its attacks in Gaza constitute acts of genocide and insists he is acting in self-defense.

This week, the German Government funding has resumed to the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA), which was one of Nicaragua’s requests.
