In a house in North Carolina (United States) a girl told her parents that there were “monsters” in her closet, although they did not pay attention to her for months.

The noise she heard actually corresponded to 50,000 bees that entered through the attic of the house.

After a visit by a control company, it was identified, using a thermal camera, that the bees built the hive inside the wall of the girl’s room. The hive was formed in eight months and the honeycomb turned out to weigh more than 45 kilograms.

Ashley Massis Class, the mother, recently noted for the magazine People that “at first I thought it was a body.” As he remembers, the beekeeper didn’t have his equipment on yet, “but he took a hammer and hit the wall. Swarms came out like in a horror movie. There were rivers of bees and the wall where he hit was oozing honey. “It was one of the biggest invasions he had seen in his 40-year career.”

The bees were removed over several days and relocated to a sanctuary. On the other hand, this incident caused damage to the electrical cables valued at USD $20,000.
