During a speech delivered on May 1 to commemorate Workers’ Day, Cilia Flores, the wife of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro, experienced an uncomfortable moment.

The event was broadcast on radio and television and showed Flores, known as ‘Venezuela’s first combatant’, addressing the public. However, in an instant, her dentures caused an embarrassing situation.

However, the embarrassing incident did not go unnoticed by the cameras or the audience present at the scene, quickly becoming viral on social networks.

The situation unfolded as Maduro’s wife praised the economic policies allegedly implemented by the regime, which, according to her, were “designed to improve the social well-being of the Venezuelan population.”

After what happened, Flores reacted immediately saying that he “I was eating a piece of gum”.

Maduro then intervened in the event trying to minimize what had happened to his wife. “He bit ‘Cilita’, he is chewing gum”, he said, trying to return humor and normality to the event.

In recent days, Maduro also attracted attention on social media by addressing US President Joe Biden in English.

This occurred before the United States reimposed sanctions on Venezuela. Faced with this situation, Maduro expressed his willingness to keep the doors of dialogue open to seek agreements.

“I will never close the doors of dialogue with anyone,” said the president. Next, he made a special request to the negotiators with the North American Government to convey his message to President Joe Biden. Interestingly, he tried to do it in English.

“I tell the negotiators to tell President Biden the following message: ‘If you want, I want. If you don’t want, I don’t want’. In Caracas: If you want I want. If you don’t want, I don’t want“Maduro expressed at the beginning of April.

While Maduro uttered the phrase in English, his audience could not contain their laughter.. Finally, they closed with applause the “clear” message he addressed to his American counterpart.

However, Maduro’s English message was useless or not understood. Last Thursday, April 17, he assured that the United States had “shot itself in both feet.” with the reimposition of financial sanctions, while announcing the signing of 20 new contracts to exploit gas and oil.

I think, President Biden, that you have made a serious mistake, you have shot yourself in both feet“Maduro said during an event with workers from the state-owned Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) in Caracas.

“They have made a serious mistake and, trying to harm us, they are doing a double hurt yourselves, because Venezuela is going to continue its path and no one is going to stop us“Maduro stated.
