Havana, May 3 (RHC) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Trinidad and Tobago expressed in a statement the decision to recognize the State of Palestine, a way to try to achieve peace in the Middle East.

“The cabinet has determined that the formal recognition of Palestine by the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago will contribute to the achievement of lasting peace by strengthening the growing international consensus on the issue of Palestinian statehood,” the text states.

Trinidadian Prime Minister Keith Rowley highlighted the long history of struggle of the Palestinian people and expressed that the creation of two States is the only way to end the conflict and the death of so many innocent people.
