Branson and his family were heading to Dickson, Oklahoma, to reach shelter when powerful winds caught the car and caused it to crash hard into a tree.
Wayne and Lindy Baker, the child’s parents, were trapped in the wreckage of the vehicle.
That’s when Branson, who was unharmed after the accident, managed to get out and ran to get help. “Mom, dad, please don’t die, I’ll be back,” were his last words before leaving, according to what he said. CNN.

The little boy traveled more than a kilometer in the middle of the darkness, of branches flying everywhere and electrical cables dislodged by the storm. Finally, after ten minutes, he arrived at the house of a neighbor who was able to alert authorities about the accident.
“One of the most horrible things I have ever seen in my life,” he added.
According to the online fundraising page launched to help the family, both suffered fractures in the back, neck and ribs.

Until the end of April, state authorities reported at least four dead, including a four-month-old baby, and multiple material damage as a result of the tornadoes.
“It is likely that there will be multiple strong, long-track tornadoes, hail and strong damaging winds this Monday,” the SPC indicated in a message, which warned that these conditions for these phenomena could extend until Wednesday.
