Accused of shooting Slovak Prime Minister breaks silence

The man accused of shooting Prime Minister Robert Fico in Slovakia He declared to the authorities that he did not agree with government policy, according to a court document.

Juraj Cintula, arrested after shooting Fico four times last weekclaimed to act out of discontent with measures such as the abolition of the Special Prosecutor’s Office.

The prime minister survived two surgeries and is recovering in serious but stable condition. Cintula was tried and remanded in custody accused of attempted premeditated murder.

However, the 71-year-old attacker expressed during interrogation that he did not want to kill Fico, but rather expressed his repudiation of decisions such as attacks on the media, cessation of aid to Ukraine and foreign policy.

The court will determine the real motivations and intentions of the act that shocked the Central European nation.
