“Before saying…”: the message that the mayor of Puerto Varas left for Pancho Saavedra

Tomas Garate, mayor from the commune of Puerto Varas, decided to send a message to Pancho Saavedra regarding some sayings he issued in Places that Talk.

In one of the last episodes of the program, Saavedra and his team traveled to Ralún, a town that belongs to Puerto Varas. There the presenter found that residents do not have drinking water and they must obtain it from a waterfall on the Petrohué River.

“There are four families that depend on this water. And what is the municipality doing that does nothing? What are the authorities doing that do nothing? The people of this place have been waiting for water for thirty years. “You guys, what have you done for it?” the animator launched emphatically.

“There are older adults here who need them. These things make you angry,” she added.

On his X account (formerly Twitter), Garate shared an excerpt of Saavedra’s words in the television program and responded to him.

“I love the program places that speak. But before saying ‘The municipality does nothing’, they should be better informed”argument.

“Pancho Saavedra, after 30 years of waiting we managed to approve the construction of the new Ralún APR for $1,064 million, which benefits that neighbor and hundreds of others,” added the mayor.

In response to the response of another user, who highlighted that it had taken three decades for that milestone, the mayor wrote: “It took us 2 years to unblock a problem that has dragged on for 30 years. Draw your own conclusions.”

It should be noted that Garate’s message was written before the Chilean entertainer suffered a difficult moment on a personal level, after the attack in Ethiopia during the recordings of Partners around the world.
