At least 15 Palestinians were killed and dozens injured in Israeli airstrikes on the Al Bureij and Al Maghazi refugee camps in the central Gaza Strip, the Gaza Ministry of Health said on Tuesday, June 4.

“The Israeli occupation has committed new massacres in the Al Bureij and Al Maghazi camps, where the Al Aqsa Martyrs Hospital received 15 martyrs and dozens of wounded during the last hour,” a ministry spokesperson said in a statement from the health center in Deir al Balah.

The facility “is the only hospital that currently provides health services to more than a million people, and its clinical capacity cannot support receiving more martyrs and wounded in light of this serious aggression against civilians, children and women,” he said.

The statement confirms that “the number of wounded and patients in the hospital departments exceeds the natural clinical capacity by more than three times.”

The Ministry urged “the international community and all international and UN organizations of all free countries in the world to immediately and urgently deploy field hospitals and medical teams to save the health situation in the Gaza Strip and control the situation of tens of thousands of injured people who are at risk of death.

Israel has continued its brutal offensive against Gaza following the October 7 Hamas incursion, despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire.

Since then, more than 36,400 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, the vast majority women and children, and more than 82,600 have been injured, according to local health authorities.

Almost eight months after the start of the Israeli attack, vast areas of Gaza lie in ruins amid the crippling Israeli blockade of food, clean water and medicine.

Israel is accused of genocide before the International Court of Justice (ICJ), whose latest ruling ordered Tel Aviv to immediately stop its operation in Rafah, where more than 1 million Palestinians had sought refuge from the war.
