The brother of the former vice mayor of Madrid Begoña Villacís, Borja Villacís, was murdered in a shooting this Tuesday in the Madrid district of Fuencarral. The perpetrators of the crime were traveling in a gray BMW X2 and fired an assault rifle at the man, who had gotten out of his white Citröen.
The Police arrested a 52-year-old woman with a police record and detained some time ago by the Civil Guard for the murder.
Borja Villacís, 41, has a history of drug trafficking and in his youth was part of the Ultras Sur group, a far-right group of Real Madrid fans. These days he was accused in the National Court for drug trafficking. The first hypotheses point to an alleged settling of accounts.
The woman, the driver of the BMW, was arrested at a car wash in Carabanchel after – allegedly – leaving two other men on a road in Fuencarral where they changed the license plates of the car and threw several firearms in an open field that were found by police.
A video filmed by neighbors shows the woman and her companion when they changed the license plates.
Lawyer Begoña Villacís, 46 years old and vice mayor of the Madrid City Council, left politics a year ago after Ciudadanos lost all of its councilors in the June 2023 elections.
