In Italy they already know him as the firefighter-hero. A new video that went viral in the last few hours shows it when nothing desperatelyagainst the current, to try to rescue the three young Romanians embraced in the middle of the Natisone River, in the north of the country, shortly before they were swept away by the force of the waters.

His attempt was in vain. The three boys were swept away by the current. The bodies of Patrizia Cormos20 years old, and Bianca Doros23, were recovered. Christian MolnarBianca’s boyfriend, is still missing.
The paradox of it all is that the firefighter-hero, whose name was not revealed, runs the risk of being sanctioned. According to the site IlFriuli.it, a disciplinary process was opened for having jumped into the river, putting his own life at risk.
Their action, according to the Cgil-Fp union, could represent a breach of workplace safety regulations.
How was the rescue attempt?
The three boys had gone on Friday, May 31, to spend the day at the river located near Udine, in the Friuli region. They walked across to a small island in the middle of the river, without any major problems. But suddenly the waters began to rise and then they realized that they could no longer return to the shore.
The water reached their knees. Patrizia called the emergency service four times for help.

When the firefighters arrived, the situation was already desperate. The three friends were hugging each other in the middle of the river in a desperate attempt to stay on their feet and not be swept away by the current.
In this context, the firefighter-hero tied himself to a rope and jumped into the river. As the video that went viral on social networks shows, he swam against the current to try to reach where the three friends were.

He couldn’t even move forward. The force of the current always kept it in the same place. Finally, he had to give up and wait for more help to arrive.
From the shore, a rope was thrown to them, but there was nothing they could do.

The bodies of Bianca and Patricia were rescued two days after the tragedy. Cristian is still missing.
