Biden assures that he will not pardon his son Hunter if he is found guilty in the case of illegal possession of weapons

The president of the United States, Joe Biden, assured this Thursday during an interview with the ABC News television network that he will not pardon his son Hunter Biden if he is found guilty in his case for illegal possession of weapons, whose trial began Last monday. During the interview, the ABC News journalist asked the US president if he would accept the result of the trial and if he would rule out a pardon for his son, to which Biden answered “yes” to both. On Monday, coinciding with the start of the process, Biden conveyed love and support to Hunter, of whom he highlighted his “resilience in the face of adversity.” Hunter is charged with three counts of having been in possession of a weapon, specifically a Colt Cobra revolver, for at least eleven days after falsifying the purchase form in 2018 and lying to the seller. The first of these charges accuses Hunter Biden of lying on a form from the United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) by falsely swearing that he was not addicted to or using illegal drugs. The second of them indicates that the president’s son would have lied to the seller of the weapon about the same matter. The third charge accuses Hunter Biden of illegally possessing weapons while he was using or addicted to drugs, which is considered a federal crime. Biden’s son also faces nine charges — to which he pleaded not guilty in January — for tax evasion in the state of California. According to the indictment, Biden’s son spent $1.4 million in federal taxes on drugs, escorts, luxury hotels, luxury vehicles or clothing, among others.
